How to use the BDC RAID Log Builder

A short walkthrough: describe a project, pick a domain pack, generate the RAID log, edit it, write the weekly status and export to Excel and PowerPoint.

How it works

Step 1

Describe the project

Two or three sentences: what is changing, the deadline, the team, the vendors and any regulation.

Step 2

Pick a domain pack

Healthcare (Provider, Payer, Life Sciences), Banking, Insurance, Retail or Software & QA add the risks people in that industry actually hit.

Step 3

Review and refine

Every cell is editable. Filter by category, use the exposure heat map, and add more entries with AI.

Step 4

Report weekly

Paste your rough notes for the week. The AI drafts red, amber or green for overall, schedule, scope and quality with a reason for each, plus the summary, done, next and decisions needed, using your open risks, overdue actions and last week's plan. Edit anything, then copy it into an email or download a status slide.

Step 5

Track the trend

Start next week's report and this week's is kept in the history. The RAG for every week shows on screen, in the email text and on the status slide, so your sponsor sees the direction, not just today.

Step 6

Export

A BDC-branded PowerPoint deck (weekly status, summary, heat map, one slide per category), an Excel workbook, CSV, or a table to paste anywhere.

Common questions

What is a RAID log?

A RAID log is the project register of Risks (things that might happen), Assumptions (things believed true but not yet verified), Issues (problems already happening) and Dependencies (what the project needs from other teams, vendors or approvals). Delivery and project managers review it every week and take it to steering committees.

Is the RAID Log Builder free?

Yes. Every Business Domain Connect account can build logs by hand without limit, draft 2 logs a month with AI using any domain pack, and draft 5 weekly status reports a month from their notes, with PowerPoint and CSV export. Pro adds 100 AI log drafts and 60 status drafts a month, Excel export and slides without the free-plan watermark.

Can it make my weekly status report?

Yes. Open a log and choose Weekly status. Paste your rough notes for the week (stand-up notes, emails, chat updates) and choose Draft the report. The AI sets red, amber or green for overall, schedule, scope and quality with a one-line reason for each, and writes the summary, what was done, what is next and the decisions needed, using your open risks, overdue actions and last week's plan. You can also fill it in by hand. Then copy it into an email or download it as a branded PowerPoint slide.

Does it keep last week's report?

Yes. When you start next week's report, the current one is saved to the history with its ratings, for up to 26 weeks. The overall RAG for each week shows as a trend strip, in the email text and on the status slide, and last week's plan is listed so you can tick items into this week's done list.

Who can see my RAID logs?

Only you. Logs are saved privately to your BDC account. The project description you type is sent to the AI to draft entries and is not used for anything else.

Do I need a separate account?

No. It uses your Business Domain Connect account — the same sign-in as the domain sessions and certifications.
