Who issues it
Business Domain Connect is a training brand of Connect Orbit Technologies (Connectorbit), Chennai, founded and taught by Chandramouli Pasumarthy — Director of Quality Engineering and Delivery, with more than twenty years in enterprise IT across healthcare, retail, banking, insurance, financial services, government and logistics.
We say this plainly: a BDC certificate is an independent training certificate. It is not a statutory qualification, it is not government-accredited, and it is not awarded under any national or international awarding body. We do not display accreditation logos we have not earned. What it carries instead is a published syllabus, a real assessment that can be failed, and a public record anyone can check.
What is assessed
Every domain track follows the same nine-layer framework, so a certificate in one domain tells you the holder has worked through the same depth of structure as a certificate in another.
Domain
The shape of the industry, who the players are and what language it uses.
Business
How the money is actually made, and what the business is optimising for.
Process
The end-to-end flows, their sequence and their exceptions.
System
The application landscape and what each system is responsible for.
Data
The core entities, their relationships and the states they move through.

Session 10 is the certification assessment itself. Contact hours are recorded on each certificate.
How the assessment works
Three things must all be satisfied. Completing the videos alone does not earn a certificate.
All nine framework sessions in that domain, with the handbook, workbook and test-scenario checklist.
Taken online with the webcam on; a photo is taken about once a minute to confirm the candidate's identity, and deleted after 90 days. Tab switching, copying, and looking answers up from the web or from AI tools are not permitted. The assessment draws on all nine layers, so it cannot be sat after the free overview session alone.
A written analysis applying the framework to a real situation in that domain. It is read and marked by the instructor, not auto-scored. An analysis that does not demonstrate applied understanding is returned for rework rather than passed.
Pass mark
The pass mark is 60%. There are no graded tiers — a candidate either meets the standard for the domain or does not.
The certificate is issued. It states a pass; it does not grade one pass against another.
No certificate is issued, and the candidate is told which of the nine layers they fell short on. The first retake is free.
We publish the pass mark because a certificate everyone passes is not a certificate. We deliberately do not publish merit or distinction tiers: they make an ordinary pass read as a weak result, when in fact it means the holder met the standard. Candidates are told their own score privately.
Retakes, re-issue and validity
Retakes. The first retake is free. A second retake is ₹500. A retake may be sat no sooner than seven days after the previous attempt, so that it reflects further study rather than a second guess. Each attempt is a fresh paper, drawn so as to avoid questions the candidate has already seen. An attempt closed by an interruption is handled as described below.
Re-issue. Lost your certificate? It is re-issued free of charge, with the same certificate number. The number belongs to the achievement, not to the copy.
Validity. A certificate does not expire. It records what was assessed on a given date, and both the assessment date and the issue date are printed on it and shown on the verification page — so a reader can judge for themselves how current it is.
If the power goes off or the connection drops
Power cuts, internet outages, a laptop that shuts down, a browser that crashes — none of these should cost a candidate their attempt or their time. The assessment is built so they don't.
Answers are stored on our server one question at a time, not in the browser. Nothing already answered is lost in an interruption. Answers are final once saved; there is no going back to change them.
The timer is kept by our server, not by the candidate's computer. If we hear nothing from the candidate's device for more than 60 seconds, the clock stops until they return. At most about a minute is lost, however long the outage lasts.
Sign in to the same account within 24 hours of the interruption, on this or any other computer, and start the assessment again. It continues from the next unanswered question with the time that was left. The assessment can be open on only one device at a time; moving to another device is possible once the first has been silent for a minute.
The question that was showing when the connection dropped is replaced with a different question on the same framework layer, because it could have been looked up while the test was paused. Answered questions are not affected.
A fourth interruption, or not returning within 24 hours, closes the attempt as incomplete. No score is recorded. A candidate's first incomplete attempt in a domain does not count towards their attempts, and there is no seven-day wait before starting again with a fresh paper. After that, an incomplete attempt counts as an attempt (still with no wait). A candidate who can show a genuine outage — an electricity board notice, an internet provider's outage report — may write to us, and we may cancel the attempt so it does not count.
If the assessment fails because of our website, our servers or an error in a question, the attempt is cancelled. It does not count, there is no wait, and any retake fee paid for it is not used up.
At the end of the time allowed, the assessment is submitted automatically with the answers saved so far. Unanswered questions score zero. Candidates may also choose to finish early.
Switching to another tab or window gives a warning; after two warnings, the next ends the assessment. An assessment ended this way, or in which the camera was off for more than two minutes in total, or which moved between devices more than once, is held for review by the instructor, usually within three working days. The result is then either released as scored, or treated as a breach of the rules: it scores zero, counts as an attempt, and may lead to the account being suspended.
Candidates are responsible for their own power and connection. We recommend a charged laptop (it keeps running through a power cut) or a UPS, a stable connection, and a mobile hotspot as a backup. The assessment's system check warns if the device is on low battery. Candidates who need extra time because of a disability or a medical condition can ask for it at least three working days before the assessment.
When a certificate is withdrawn
A certificate may be withdrawn if the assessment was taken dishonestly, if the scenario analysis was not the candidate's own work, or if the certificate is misrepresented — for example, described as a government or accredited qualification.
A withdrawn certificate is never deleted from our records. Its number continues to resolve on the verification page and reports clearly that it has been withdrawn. Quietly removing a record would leave a certificate number that simply "does not exist" — which is indistinguishable from a typo, and would undermine every other certificate we have issued.
Verification
Every certificate carries a unique number in the form BDC-RTL-2026-0001 — the track code, the year of issue and a sequential number — together with a QR code that opens the verification page directly.
Anyone can check a number at businessdomainconnect.com/verify, with no account and no sign-in. The record shows the holder's name, the track, the assessment and issue dates, the result and the current status. Scores, contact details and account information are never published.
